A hospice emergency notification system for 50 to 500 staff
You have an on-call rotation and a directory that your team already keeps current. Care Roster uses them as a staff notification system: send a text or email alert to the people you choose, ask for an I’m OK or Need help answer, and watch the tally. It is staff only, it fits a hospice, home health or senior care agency of 50 to 500 staff, and it is part of the Complete plan.
- 45-day free trial
- No credit card to start
- Staff only, from your own directory
- Built on on-call and the shared directory
A notification system that already knows your people
The hard part of any alert system is the list: who is on staff, who is on call, and which number reaches them. Care Roster already holds all three.
Your directory is the list
Alerts go to the staff already in your Care Roster directory. There is no second contact list to build, upload or keep in step.
On-call aware
Send to whoever is on call right now, or to a whole rotation. Coverage changes and swaps are already in the schedule the alert reads.
Answers, not just sends
Ask for I’m OK or Need help and watch a live tally. See who needs help and who has not answered.
Staff only
Built for the people who work for you. There is no patient or family list to message from, and personal numbers are reachable only when the person opted in.
From your directory to a sent alert
Bring in your staff
Sync staff from Microsoft 365 or import a spreadsheet with the guided CSV template. Set each person’s work and personal mobile.
Set up groups and templates
Group by department, location or job title, add your on-call rotations, and start from the ready-made templates.
Send and watch
Review who the alert reaches, send it by text, email or both, and follow the tally as people answer.
The list behind every alert
One directory of your people, with the numbers that reach them.
Update a number once and alerts use it.
- One place for staff. Departments, locations and job titles become groups you can send to.
- Kept current your way. Sync from Microsoft 365, import by CSV or edit by hand, with a verification date on each record.
- Reach shown before you send. See who an alert reaches and who it cannot reach, and why.
Send to whoever is on call
Your rotations are already in Care Roster. Use them as a group.
On call right now is a group.
- Whoever is on call right now. Send to the person covering now, for one rotation or all of them.
- Rotations as groups. Send to the whole rotation, not just the person on call today.
- Coverage included. Swaps and temporary coverage in the schedule are what the alert reads.
Ask, then watch the answers
An alert can ask for a response, and the answers build a live picture.
I’m OK, Need help and a live tally.
- One tap to answer. People answer from a text or an email.
- Need help is pinned. See the name, answer and time, and mark it handled.
- App notifications (Android and iOS apps coming this month). They go with a text or email alert, for people who have the app.
- Templates and scheduling. Start from a template, or schedule an alert for later.

Care Roster is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911. Texts and emails can be delayed or fail, and no one at MortonApps watches replies. See section 13 of the Terms of Service.

Hospice, home health and senior care agencies with about 50 to 500 staff who want to reach their own people. Complete covers agencies up to 500 users, and larger agencies can contact us for a quote.
What decides who receives an alert?
You do. Pick everyone, a department, a location, a job title, an on-call rotation or whoever is on call right now, and review the recipient list before anything sends.
Does it message patients or families?
No. It is for internal staff only, and there is no patient or family list to message from.
Can we try it before we subscribe?
Yes. The free 45-day trial includes every Complete feature available today, with 25 texts to try alerts. No credit card is required.
