Ask your staff “Are you OK?” after a storm, fire or incident
When something happens in your area, you need to know your people are safe. Send one alert that asks Are you OK?, let each person answer I’m OK or Need help with one tap, and watch the tally fill in. You see who needs help and who has not answered yet. Built for hospice first, and for home health and senior care teams too.

One question, two answers, a clear picture
A check-in only works if it is easy to answer and easy to read. Care Roster keeps both simple.
One question
Start from the All-staff safety check template: Are you OK? followed by a reminder to call 911 in an emergency. Edit the wording if you like.
Two answers
People tap I’m OK or Need help in a text or an email. Nobody has to type.
A live tally
See how many are OK, how many need help and how many have not answered, as the answers come in.
Who needs help
Anyone who answers Need help is pinned to the top with their name and the time, until someone marks it handled.
A check-in in three steps
Start from the template
Pick All-staff safety check, choose who it goes to, and add the details of what happened.
Send it
Choose text, email or both, review who it reaches, and send.
Watch and follow up
Watch the tally, reach the people who need help, and follow up with the people who have not answered.
Watch the answers fill in
The live view is the picture of how your people are doing.
OK, Need help and no response, in one view.
- The tally. It reads like 70 I’m OK, 3 Need help, 27 no response, and changes as answers arrive.
- People filters. Look at only the people who need help, who said OK or who have not answered.
- App notifications (Android and iOS apps coming this month). They go with a text or email alert, for people who have the app.
- No response is not a verdict. Someone who has not answered may simply not have seen it yet. Reach out directly.
When someone says they need help
A Need help answer is never buried in a list.
Pinned, flagged and tracked until handled.
- Pinned to the top. The name, the answer and the time stay in a Need help band above everything else.
- Mark it handled. When someone has reached the person, mark it handled so the team knows.
- Reach your on-call. Send a follow-up alert to whoever is on call right now.
- Staff emergency escalation. It would tell your on-call staff automatically when someone needs help Coming soon
The wording is already written
You should not be drafting a message while the wind is blowing.
A ready-made check-in, plus a test for your drills.
- All-staff safety check. The template asks Are you OK? and carries a line pointing people to 911 in an emergency.
- A test template. Send a test to your staff before you need it, and see who answers.
- Your drill file. Print or export the alert’s record, with who answered, for your drill and survey files.

Staff safety check-in, answered
What does a staff safety check-in look like?
It is one alert that asks Are you OK? Each person taps I'm OK or Need help, and you watch the live tally and the list of people who have not answered.
What if someone does not answer?
No response does not mean someone is unsafe, because they may not have seen the alert. Filter to the people with no response and reach out directly, or retry any text that did not go through.
Does Care Roster send help?
No. Care Roster is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911. Texts and emails can be delayed or fail, and no one at MortonApps watches replies.
Who gets the check-in?
The staff you choose: everyone, a department, a location, or whoever is on call right now. It never goes to patients or families.
