Tell your staff about a closure, a weather delay or a coverage change
The roads are bad, a building is closed, or tonight’s coverage just changed. Start from a template, fill in the day and the reason, pick the people, and send it by text, email or both. Need it later? Schedule the alert and it waits under Upcoming. Built for hospice first, and for home health and senior care teams too.

A thirty-second job instead of a phone tree
The message is mostly the same every time. Care Roster keeps the wording ready so you only fill in what changed.
Templates
Office closure, severe weather, coverage needed, IT outage, all clear and more. Fill in the day and the reason, and edit anything.
The right people
Send to all staff, a department, a location or whoever is on call right now, and see who it reaches before it goes.
Text, email or both
Reach staff on the phone they carry, in their inbox, or both. App notifications (Android and iOS apps coming this month) can go with them.
Now or scheduled
Send it now, or pick when it should go out and see it under Upcoming until it does.
From template to sent
Pick a template
Choose Office closure, Severe weather, Coverage needed or All clear, then fill in the bracketed parts such as the day and the reason.
Choose who and how
Pick the people and the channels. Care Roster shows who the alert reaches and refuses to send while a bracket is left unfilled.
Send now or later
Send it, or schedule it. Ask for a response if you need to know who got it.
The wording is ready
Start from a template and change only what is different today.
Closures, weather, coverage and all clear.
- Ready-made. Office closure, severe weather, coverage needed, IT outage, all-staff safety check, all clear and a test.
- Fill-ins are checked. A message that still has a bracket such as the day is not sent until you fill it in.
- Your own. Administrators save their own templates for the alerts you send often.

Set it up ahead of time
When you know about the weather the night before, do not leave it for the morning.
Pick the time and move on.
- Schedule for later. Choose the day and time, and the alert is sent then.
- See what is coming. Scheduled alerts sit under Upcoming until they go out, and you can change or cancel them there.
- A clear record. A scheduled alert that did not go out shows as missed or canceled, never as a tally of nobody.
When tonight’s coverage changes
Find out who can cover without a round of calls.
Ask who can cover and see the answers.
- Coverage needed. The template asks Can you cover? and people answer I can cover or Can't.
- The right group. Send to a department, a location or whoever is on call right now.
- The answers in one place. See who can cover and who has not answered.

Closure and weather alerts, answered
Can we schedule an alert ahead of time?
Yes. Pick the day and time, and the alert shows under Upcoming until it goes out. You can change or cancel it there.
Do we have to write the message from scratch?
No. Start from a template such as Office closure or Severe weather, and fill in the day and the reason. You can edit anything.
Can staff reply?
You can ask for a response, such as Confirm, or I'm OK and Need help. The sender sees who answered and who has not.
Is this for patients or families?
No. Alerts go to internal staff only, and there is no patient or family list to message from.
